All net income from public fundraising projects, raffles or events held
by the Zonta Club of Brainerd is donated to local
organizations, or to organizations sponsored by Zonta
International.
Spring Style Show
The
largest fundraising effort for the past several years has been the annual Spring
Style Show. This is a major effort requiring several months of planning
and preparation each year.
Attendance has averaged up to 200 women and benefits local programs and international causes.
The 2002 Style Show was held on April 11th at
Grandview Lodge. This year's theme was "A Fashion Safari"
and raised over $3,000 to benefit many of the organizations and programs listed
below.
Evening Speaker Event:
Occasionally, the Club is able to host an evening presentation featuring an
interesting speaker who has a background or a topic of interest to women.
A light dinner or desert is typically served.

- Central Lakes College Scholarship:
The Zonta Club has completed the funding of a $10,000 endowment to provide
scholarships to young women attending CLC. This includes one nursing
scholarship, and one non-traditional career scholarship.

provides mentoring and resources for displaced women re-entering the workplace
- Parent Mentor program
- Sexual Assault Program
- Port Girls Home: In
addition to providing financial support, Zonta members visit the facility
and speak with the girls about careers and opportunities for women.
- Mid Minnesota Women's Center

- Rose Fund - provides general
support for costs and service programs at the discretion of the Zonta
International Foundation board
- Amelia Earhart Fellowship - supports
outstanding women pursuing graduate degrees in aerospace-related sciences and
engineering. Fund was established in 1938 to honor Zontian Amelia
Earhart.
- International Service Fund - supports
the International Service Project adopted at the biennial international
convention.
- Young Women in Public Affairs - awards
honor young women who demonstrate a commitment to leadership in public policy,
government and volunteer organizations.
- WHIPPI Fund- provides funds for
preservation and improvement of Zonta Headquarters Building
- Zonta International Foundation Endowment Fund
- Funds an endowment which will use the earnings to fund
various Zonta International Foundation programs
- ZISVAW (Zonta International Strategies to
Eradicate Violence Against Women and Children) - focuses on
prevention, awareness, education and the development of innovative approaches to
eliminate abuse against women and children.

- Project Haiti Literacy Program -
donations pay for a teacher and are eligible for matching grants for
additional teaching staff in one of the world's poorest countries
